Track Discovery Workshop and open day
Saturday 2nd June:

Have you heard about track systems or Paddock Paradise?

Wondered what its all about? Why we do it? How it was created? How a track system can benefit horses with different life long medical conditions and why it could improve the health and well-being or your horse? AND how to create your own track system at home?

We are really excited to be able to open up our two track systems and invite you to join us for a day of learning and discovery about track systems, horse health and well-being, horse herd behaviour, equine self selection and enabling horses with complex metabolic needs to live a full and fulfilled life. We will also have a selection of the products and equipment we use on our track available to view and purchase on the day, including nets from Nibbleze!

Selina & Alex from 2by2 Track livery will guide you through the day with the help of interactive talks from invited guests.

On the day:

  • We start the day with Rachel Rogers, Equine Podiatrist DEP MEPA(UK), where we delve into the old adage of "no foot, no horse" but only by looking at the horse as a whole, rather than at the hooves in isolation, can we achieve the healthiest hooves that have the most potential to perform.

  • Following a coffee break, we talk about how a track can benefit your horse/s, with a life saving case study from one of our trackies.

  • Alex & Selina will then invite you for a live tour of the first of our track systems, where we will welcome your questions and take you through our journey from design, to build, working with the environment around you, discuss the forage element of diet from growth to testing and storage, ways to encouraging movement, mental stimulation and environment enrichment through horse safe planting.

  • We will then break for a relaxed lunch and a chat.

  • In the afternoon Nicki Castle, independent Equine Nutritionist, with the help of some willing equine volunteers, will demonstrate how we can monitor the health of our horses with a practical weight taping, condition scoring and weigh bridge session, talk us through the fundamentals of feeding and feed label jargon busting!

  • We will then get back on track and see our fully surfaced track system. We will introduce you to the horses and how living on our track benefits each of them in turn and how the features of a track systems can help relieve symptoms of a multitude of equine issues. We will cover the day to day running of a track system vs a stabling based system and also talk about the future for us, our track and our horses.

  • We will then end with a coffee and Q&A and hopefully leave you bursting with inspiration!
